Per-country compliance matrix, live for every merchant

Pick an industry and validation level, and 12verify shows the verifications you actually need per country — with regulatory citations where we have them.

One of the most frequent questions we hear from merchants is the same every time: what do I legally need to collect, by country? The answer depends on industry (iGaming, alcohol, adult content, dating, financial services), the jurisdiction's specific regulation, and the validation posture the business has chosen. It should not require a consultant to answer.

Today we're shipping the compliance matrix. Pick an industry plus a validation level in the new onboarding wizard and the matrix renders the required scopes per country. Every rule cites the regulation behind it where we have a public citation. For merchants operating in a specific jurisdiction you can filter down to just the countries you care about.

Behind the scenes, rules live in a `ComplianceRule` table that our compliance team maintains through the backoffice — industry × validation level × country code → the set of scopes a site must collect. Effective-from and effective-to timestamps mean we can preview upcoming regulatory changes without disturbing what's currently in force.

The matrix is the data source for two workflows: the wizard uses it to pre-seed the scopes on a new site, and the `/partner/compliance` view lets you inspect the same data after setup. In both places, the data is fresh per request — no cached decisions.

The initial dataset covers five industries and thirty countries. Expect it to expand quickly as pilot customers and partners flag gaps. If you hit one, drop us a line and we'll refine the ruleset within the day.
